Why a College Student's Vision Board Needs a Calendar
A semester moves in blocks: syllabus week, midterms, finals, breaks. A board that ignores that calendar is forgotten after the first midterm.
- Goals made in January collide with a syllabus you have not seen yet.
- Study, shifts and a social life all want the same Tuesday.
- The money goal is a first paycheck, an internship or a loan payment, not a mortgage.
- The board has to fit a dorm wall or a laptop screen.
- Sleep is the first thing cut and the first thing you pay for.
Six Ready-Made Boards for College Life
Pick a board to see it. Each has five photographs, a word block, a line to read every day and a band for your own word. None shows a person, only dorm rooms, desks, campus and places.
Board 1 · one picture from each part of life
Fresh start
Small steps count if I take them.
- Word block: Begin
- A desk with a lamp and laptop, a lecture hall, an open notebook and a backpack
- Best for a first board at the start of a term

Board 2 · for the year you finally go
Wander
I go where I've been putting off.
- Word block: Explore
- A train window over green hills, a suitcase with a map, a backpack and an old street
- Best for a semester abroad, a road trip or a summer plan

Board 3 · a room and a routine that feel like yours
Campus and home
My room feels like mine, even if it's small.
- Word block: Focus
- A dorm bed under string lights, a bright small room and a campus quad with columns
- Best for a new dorm, a first apartment or a study routine

Board 4 · small steps toward a first real job
Money and career
My first paycheck is a start.
- Word block: Earn
- An espresso machine, a planner, a calculator and a bright office atrium
- Best for a campus job, an internship or a first budget

Board 5 · look after the person doing the work
Body and mood
Sleep is part of studying.
- Word block: Rest
- A bed with a book, a running track, a yoga mat and meal-prep boxes
- Best for a sleep routine or a gym habit that survives finals

Board 6 · the ones you want more time with
Friends and family
I make room for people who show up.
- Word block: Open
- A movie night with popcorn, autumn coffee cups and a shared table of food
- Best for a year of fewer obligations and closer friends

How to Use the Kit Across a Semester
Do the look-back and goals in one sitting at the start of a term, and make the board the same week.
-
Look back at your year
Fill in the first pages in pencil: the year in a page, what to keep, drop and begin, and where you stand in six areas of life.
-
Choose three goals
Write down twelve ideas, cut them with three questions and keep three. A grade, a job and a habit is a good mix.
-
Split the year the way your school does
On the academic year page, mark classes to focus on, exams, papers and deadlines, internships, jobs and applications, and one thing you are doing for you.
-
Make the board for your room
Print a ready-made board for the dorm wall, or build one from the cut sheets and word cards, or save a phone wallpaper.
-
Plan each week, check in monthly
Use the college week page on Sunday, and end each month with a check-in that includes classes and grades.

Why the Plan Has to Follow the Academic Calendar
Most goal plans fail at the calendar, not at the dream. A college year has terms, exam weeks, breaks and shifts, and a goal that does not say where it fits is a wish. The academic year page asks for the deadlines you already know about and leaves gaps for the ones you do not.
The weekly page has room for classes and labs, study and work shifts, and time for you. That third column is deliberate. A schedule with no time for you gets abandoned, and the monthly check-in asks how classes and grades are going alongside what worked and what to change.
The photographs were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything. The listing says so, and this page does too.

Vision Board Kit for College Students: Frequently Asked Questions
What is in the college vision board kit?
A 26-page goal workbook with academic-year pages, six ready-made boards, four blank layouts, 40 word cards plus 8 blanks, 50 photographs and 19 graphic tiles, as one 48-page PDF in US Letter and A4. A ZIP adds the 69 image files and three phone wallpapers.
Is it for college or for high school?
It is written for college students. The planning pages split the year into semesters, quarters or terms and include classes, internships and work shifts. For high school, see the teen kit.
Is a vision board for college students worth making?
It is worth an evening if it ends in a plan. A board alone shows what you want. The workbook adds the three goals, the term calendar and the first thirty days. Skip the board and keep the plan if that suits you better.
Does it work with semesters and quarters?
Yes. The academic year page lets you split the year the way your school does, whether that is semesters, quarters or terms.
Do the photographs show people?
No. They show dorm rooms, desks, campus, places and things.
Can I edit it, or is it print-only?
No. The PDFs are made to print and write on. They are not editable templates. If you want to edit the boards, the Canva template version is the one to buy.
Can I start in the fall or in January?
Yes. The pages carry no dates, so you can start in any month. January is the usual time, but the three-goal method works in March or September too.
What do I get when I buy it?
Three files: the 48-page PDF in US Letter, the same PDF in A4, and a ZIP with 69 image files and three phone wallpapers.
How much does it cost, and where can I buy it?
As of 23 October 2026 it costs $6.99 on Etsy. The table above shows what the store sells.
More questions
Is it a good gift for a college student?
It works as a New Year gift, a back-to-campus gift or a care-package extra. It arrives as a download, so a parent can send the files and the student can print them anywhere.
Can I use the boards as a phone wallpaper?
Yes. The ZIP holds three phone wallpapers made from the kit's photographs.
How is it different from the teen kit?
The teen kit follows a school year and school week. This one follows an academic year with exams, internships, applications and work shifts.
Can I print it more than once?
Print as many copies as you need for yourself. Please do not share, resell or redistribute the files.
Was AI used to make it?
The photographs were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything and designed the pages, boards and graphic tiles.
Is this academic, financial or mental health advice?
No. It is a goal-setting and planning kit. It is not medical, financial or mental health advice.
What size does it print, and how should I print it?
Print at 100%, not 'fit to page'. Plain paper works for the workbook. The photographs print sharply up to about 5 x 7 inches, and a full-page print looks softer. The PDFs come in US Letter and A4.
What if a file will not open?
Email the address on the contact page. If a file will not open or is not what the listing describes, it gets fixed or replaced.
