Why a Kids Vision Board Should Not Look Like an Adult One
A vision board for a seven-year-old needs big writing lines, a goal small enough to finish and a reward they can see. Most printables are an adult kit with a cartoon on the cover.
- The writing lines are too small for a first-grader's pencil.
- The goals are about careers and savings, not a spelling test or a cartwheel.
- Nothing shows how to get from the wish to a first step.
- There is no reward at the end, so the board gets forgotten.
- You want a quiet-weekend activity, not a project that needs your whole afternoon.
Four Ready-Made Boards and a Workbook Made for Children
Pick a page to see it. The four boards each have photographs, a word block and a line to say out loud. The workbook pages are built for a pencil and a box of crayons. A grown-up should be close by.

How to Do It With a Child in Five Steps
Work through a page or two at a time and let your child lead. It suits a quiet weekend or a rainy afternoon.
-
Read page 2 first
A short note for grown-ups says how to help with reading, writing and scissors without doing it for them.
-
Look back and pick the goals
Your child fills in 'my year so far,' 'my favorite things' and 'my word for the year,' then picks up to three small goals.
-
Climb a goal ladder
For each goal, write it at the top and put one small step on each rung, from something to do this week up to 'I did it!'
-
Make the board
Print one of the four ready-made boards, or cut out photographs and word cards and glue them onto a layout. Color a page for fun.
-
Color a star, add a sticker
Color a habit star each time your child works on a goal, glue a sticker on each finished goal and fill in the certificate.

Why a Child's Board Starts With a Small Goal
A child can finish 'read one chapter book' or 'ride to the end of the road.' They cannot finish 'be healthier.' The goal ladder takes one small goal and splits it into five rungs, and the bottom rung is something that can be done this week.
The 'if I get stuck' page borrows the if-then idea from research on goal setting with adults and teens: decide now what you will do when it gets hard. The example on the page is 'When it feels too hard, I will take a break and then try a smaller step.' This is a gentle version for children, not a clinical tool.
The photographs and coloring pages were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything and designed the pages, boards and stickers. The listing says so, and this page does too. The license is for your family's own use.

What You Download
One 38-page PDF in US Letter, the same PDF in A4, and a ZIP with the 30 photographs and 6 coloring pages as JPG files. That is three files, and the PDFs are about 9 MB each.
- 38
- pages per PDF
- 30
- photographs
- 6
- coloring pages
Print at 100%. Plain paper is fine, and coloring pages work best on thicker paper. Younger children will need a grown-up for reading, writing and scissors.

More questions
Can I start in any month?
Yes. The pages carry no dates, so you can start in any month. January is the usual time, but the three-goal method works in March or September too.
Is it good for a rainy afternoon?
Yes. The coloring pages, the cut-and-glue board and the stickers make a few hours of quiet work, and the workbook can be done a page or two at a time.
How is it different from the teen kit?
The teen kit is a plain 48-page workbook and board set with school-year pages. This one is bright, with big writing lines, coloring pages and stickers.
Can I print it for my classroom?
The license is for your family's own use, so please buy one copy for each family and do not copy it for a class.
Was AI used to make it?
Yes. The photographs and coloring pages were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything.
Is this educational or mental health advice?
No. It is a goal-setting and planning book. It is not medical, mental health or educational advice.
What size does it print?
Print at 100%, not 'fit to page'. The PDFs come in US Letter and A4.
