Why Site Owners Need a Search Console Book That Ends in a Decision
Search Console tells you what happened. It never tells you what to do next. You get a chart, a table of queries and a column called Position that goes up when things get worse.
- Impressions climb and clicks don't follow, and the chart offers four possible reasons.
- Two of your pages rank for the same search, and you can't decide which one stays.
- Search Console says "Crawled, currently not indexed" and nobody tells you whether to care.
- A post that brought steady visits last year now brings a handful, and you can't say why.
- You paste a report into ChatGPT, get generic advice and still don't know what to change.
- The filter box asks for regex, your pattern returns nothing, and you close the tab.
The Search Console Fix Book Swaps Guesswork for One Prompt per Problem
Every problem chapter follows the same eight steps, from the symptom you see to the number that proves the fix. Pick a problem to see its chapter, its decision rule and the prompt the book hands you.
- Confirm the problem with a filter or regex pattern before you change anything on the page.
- Read a decision rule that says when to fix, when to merge and when to leave a page alone.
- Paste a full prompt into Claude or ChatGPT and fill the input fields named at the end.
- Compare the answer with an excerpt of good output, so you can spot a weak one.
- Measure the fix against a dated before-and-after number, then move to the next.
Chapter 6 · prompt GSC12
My impressions are up and my clicks aren't
- What readers need
- A way to tell a Google counting change, an AI answer, a weak snippet and a real ranking loss apart.
- How the book solves it
- GSC12 tests the four causes in order, and the decision rule says which ones you can fix and which you can only understand.
- Test all four causes in one pass instead of rewriting titles by default.
- Tell a reporting change from a real ranking loss before you touch a page.
- Stop editing pages that were never the problem.
GSC12 · Impressions up, clicks down
WHAT IT DOES Separates the four causes that look the same on the chart: a Google counting change, AI answers taking the click, weak snippets, and real ranking loss. Then tells you which ones you can fix.
ROLE You are a search analyst who has diagnosed hundreds of traffic drops. You start with the measurement, then the results page, then the site. You never blame the site for something Google changed.
Chapter 8 · prompt GSC11
Two of my pages rank for the same search
- What readers need
- A rule for which overlaps cost you clicks and which are harmless.
- How the book solves it
- GSC11 finds every overlap, drops the false alarms, picks one of five fixes for each real case and names the owner page.
- See every overlapping search from one export.
- Apply a three-part test, so harmless overlap gets left alone.
- Know the owner page before you merge, redirect or demote anything.
GSC11 · Cannibalization finder
WHAT IT DOES Finds every search where two or more of your pages compete, then decides the right fix for each one: merge, de-optimize, canonical, differentiate, or leave it alone.
ROLE You are a senior SEO consultant who specializes in keyword cannibalization. You know most "cannibalization" found by tools is harmless, and you only prescribe surgery when two pages are really splitting the same intent and losing clicks because of it.
Chapter 10 · prompt GSC14
Google crawled my pages and won't index them
- What readers need
- A page-by-page call on what to fix, what to leave alone and what to remove.
- How the book solves it
- GSC14 works through the Page indexing report, starting with "Crawled, currently not indexed", and explains why pressing Request indexing again doesn't fix the cause.
- Sort every flagged URL into fix, leave alone or remove.
- Get a likely reason for each group of pages.
- Stop pressing Request indexing on pages that need a different fix.
GSC14 · Indexing fixer
WHAT IT DOES Works through the Page indexing report and tells you, page by page, what to fix, what to leave alone, and what to remove, starting with "Crawled, currently not indexed".
ROLE You are a technical SEO specialist. You know that many "not indexed" pages are fine, that Google chooses not to index pages it sees as low value or duplicate, and that pressing "Request indexing" again and again does not fix the cause.
Chapter 9 · prompt GSC13
A post that used to bring traffic has faded
- What readers need
- A way to tell decay from a season or a reporting change.
- How the book solves it
- GSC13 builds a monthly click series for every page across 16 months, finds the searches each decaying page lost and ranks the refresh list by what each page is worth.
- Build a monthly click series for every page.
- Separate decay from seasons and from the impressions logging fix.
- Refresh the pages worth saving first.
GSC13 · Content decay finder
WHAT IT DOES Finds pages that are slowly losing clicks across 16 months, works out why each one is sliding, and ranks the refresh list by what it is worth.
ROLE You are a content strategist who manages large content libraries. You tell the difference between a page that is decaying, a page that is seasonal, and a page that only looks worse because of a reporting change.
Chapter 16 · prompt GSC03
My page is stuck on page two
- What readers need
- A precise reason the page sits at positions 11 to 20.
- How the book solves it
- GSC03 diagnoses why the page stalls and gives you an upgrade plan to push it onto page one.
- Diagnose why one page stalls at positions 11 to 20.
- Get an upgrade plan written for that page, not a generic checklist.
- Spend your effort where a small gain moves the page onto page one.
GSC03 · Page 2 to page 1
WHAT IT DOES Diagnoses why a page is stuck in positions 11 to 20 and gives a precise upgrade plan to break onto page one.
Chapter 20 · prompt GSC17
People search questions my site never answers
- What readers need
- A post built around one real question, written to win the snippet.
- How the book solves it
- GSC17 turns a question from your own data into an answer-first post that can be quoted in AI answers, checked so it never competes with a page you already have.
- Start from a question people actually search.
- Write the answer first, then the detail.
- Check the post against your existing pages before you publish.
GSC17 · Question to answer-first post
WHAT IT DOES Turns one real question people ask into an answer-first blog post that can win the snippet, get quoted in AI answers and send readers to the right service or product page. The keywords come from your Search Console data, checked so the post never competes with a page you already have.

The Search Console Fix Book Method: Fix One Problem in Five Steps
This Search Console book teaches one method, and it is the same in every problem chapter. You prove the problem, find its cause, run one prompt, check the answer and measure the result. Skip a step and you can't tell which change worked.
-
Spot it
Open the report the chapter names, apply its filter or regex pattern and export the rows that prove the problem.
OUTPUT A filtered export that proves the problem exists.
-
Find the cause
Read why it happens, then apply the decision rule. It says when to fix, when to merge and when to leave the page alone.
OUTPUT A clear call: fix it, merge it or leave it.
-
Run the prompt
Paste the full prompt into Claude or ChatGPT and fill the input fields at the end with your own data.
OUTPUT A written plan with ranked actions.
-
Check the answer
Compare the output with the excerpt of good output in the chapter, and read the notes for your kind of business.
OUTPUT An answer you trust enough to apply.
-
Measure it
Change a small batch, record the date and track the number from chapter 23 before you touch the next batch.
OUTPUT A dated before-and-after number.
What the Search Console Fix Book Includes
- 184-page guide in PDF and EPUB
- Read it on a laptop, phone or e-reader, and search any chapter for the symptom you see.
- 24 Search Console prompts as plain text files
- Paste one into Claude or ChatGPT and fill the input fields named at the end.
- A Claude Project pack
- Set it up once, type a code like run GSC08, and Claude asks only for what it can't fill in itself.
- 40 Search Console regex patterns as a spreadsheet
- Paste a pattern into the filter box, including branded vs non-branded splits. Each one was tested on Google's RE2 engine and on a live Search Console property.
- Two ways to connect your data
- Route A links Search Console to Claude. Route B uses 16 months of exports in slices and works on any plan.
- A data trust check (GSC08)
- It checks six ways your numbers can mislead you, such as the 1,000-row export limit, before you act on them.
- A keyword ownership map (GSC00)
- It builds one map from your queries and sitemap, so every search has one page that owns it.
- A 16-month sample dataset
- Run every chapter on a fictional bakery's data before you touch your own site.
- Notes for your kind of business
- A bakery, a plumber and a software firm run through every chapter, and chapters 12 to 14 cover local, shop and international sites.
- A money view and a monthly report
- Chapter 24 joins Search Console to GA4 to find the searches that earn. Chapter 25 writes the report in plain English.
- The Human Writing Field Guide
- The rules the author edits by, for when a prompt hands you a draft. The Prompt Playbook has the writing prompts themselves.
Export, connector or API: three ways to get Search Console data into Claude or ChatGPT
| Method | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Export and paste (Route B in the book) | Any plan and any site size, if you export in date slices | One Performance export stops at 1,000 rows |
| Connector (MCP) | Asking Claude live questions without exports | Connectors are built by third parties and can see your Search Console data, so read each provider's terms |
| API script | Repeat reports across many properties | Needs code and quota handling, and most small sites never need it |

Search Console Is Not Getting Simpler
Google's own data anomalies page lists a logging error that kept Search Console from reporting impressions accurately from 13 May 2025 until 27 April 2026. Google says the issue is resolved, that you may see impressions decrease, and that clicks were not affected.
So a chart that looks like a traffic problem can be a measurement problem. The book teaches you to check that first.
AI features add a second layer. Google's guidance on AI features says sites that appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode are included in overall search traffic in Search Console, in the Web search type. The book treats an AI answer as one of four causes to test, not the only one.
And it has limits. It won't get you backlinks, and it won't fix a site that has no content.
It turns data you already own into the next thing to write or change. Facts and dates were checked in September 2026.

Measured on a Real Site
Chapter 26 of this Search Console book follows a real site, using anonymized data shared with the client's permission. In 16 months it went from position 51.7 to 9.8. Comparing the first 28 days with the last 28, clicks went from 224 to 2,140.
- 51.7 to 9.8
- average position over 16 months
- 224 to 2,140
- clicks, first 28 days against last 28
- 315 of 664
- pages earned zero clicks
The author worked on the site the whole time, so the book does not claim the prompts caused every gain. For the first twelve months the work was publishing and building. From about May 2026 the site's Search Console data went through the book's prompts, and the chart bends upward from there.
Every regex pattern in the book was tested on Google's RE2 engine and on a live Search Console property. The businesses in the other chapters are fictional, and the book says so.
The Search Console Fix Book: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Search Console Fix Book?
It's a 184-page Google Search Console book that pairs 20 common ranking problems with 24 prompts for Claude and ChatGPT. You export the report a chapter names, paste it in with the prompt, and get a decision: merge, rewrite, refresh, build or leave alone.
How do I use ChatGPT or Claude with Google Search Console?
Export the report a chapter names, paste it into Claude or ChatGPT with the chapter's prompt, and the model returns a ranked list of actions. The book covers two routes: connect Search Console to Claude directly, or export 16 months of data in slices, which works on any plan.
What is a Search Console regex filter?
A Search Console regex filter is a pattern typed into the Performance report's custom (regex) option, so the report shows only the queries or pages that match. The book has 40 tested patterns for it, grouped by intent, brand, location, length, freshness and page type.
Why are my impressions up and my clicks down?
Four causes look identical on the chart: a Google counting error, AI answers taking the click, a weaker snippet, or lost rankings. Chapter 6 and prompt GSC12 test them in that order and tell you which ones you can fix.
Is it for beginners?
Yes, if you can open Search Console and export a report. This Search Console book has no coding, and every problem chapter follows the same eight steps, so once you've worked through one you can read any other in about ten minutes.
Which AI tools does it work with?
The prompts are plain text, written to be portable, so you can paste them into Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant that accepts a long prompt. The Claude Project pack is built for Claude only.
What format do I get, and what is in the download?
You get the PDF and EPUB, the 24 prompts as text files, the Claude Project pack, the 40 regex patterns as a spreadsheet, a 16-month sample dataset and The Human Writing Field Guide. The store delivers everything after checkout.
What does it cost, and where can I buy it?
As of 10 October 2026 it costs $29.99 on Whop and $49 on Gumroad. The listed contents match on both stores, and the edition table above shows the details.
More questions
Do I need paid SEO tools?
No. The book runs on Search Console's free reports and a free Claude or ChatGPT account. It works from exports, and connecting Search Console to Claude is optional.
Does it cover AI Overviews and AI Mode?
Yes. Chapter 1 covers what Google changed in 2025 and 2026, chapter 6 tests whether AI answers took your clicks, and chapter 20 turns question searches into answer-first posts.
What is in the Claude Project pack?
It's a Claude Project you set up once. You then type a code such as run GSC08, and Claude asks only for the information it can't fill in itself.
Can I use it for a local business, a shop or a software site?
Yes. A bakery, a plumber and a software firm run through every chapter, and chapters 12 to 14 cover local businesses, online shops and other countries and languages.
Is the case study real?
Yes. Chapter 26 uses real, anonymized data shared with the client's permission. The three businesses in the other chapters are fictional, and every number attributed to them is invented.
What does the book not do?
It won't get you backlinks, and it won't fix a site that has no content. This Search Console book works on data you already own and turns it into the next thing to write or change.
How is it different from a free guide or a course?
Free Google Search Console guides explain what each report means. This Search Console book starts after that, with the decision. Every chapter ends in a prompt you run on your own data.
Can I try a chapter first?
Yes. The free chapter on impressions up and clicks down is on Whop and Gumroad, and the free sample chapter page links to both.
Is the book independent of Google?
Yes. It's independent of Google, Anthropic and OpenAI. Search Console, AI tools and search results change often, and the book's features and dates were checked in September 2026.
Can I use the prompts on client sites?
Yes. The prompts and regex patterns are licensed for your own sites and your clients' sites. You can't resell or republish them as a collection.
Can I connect Search Console to Claude?
Yes. Chapter 2 shows two routes: connect Search Console to Claude through a connector, or export 16 months of data in slices. The connector saves time, and the export route works on any plan with nothing to install.
What is a Search Console MCP connector?
A Search Console MCP connector is a tool that lets Claude read your Search Console data directly. Third parties build these connectors, so check what access you grant before you sign in.
How to use ChatGPT with Google Search Console without paying for a tool?
Export the report a chapter names and paste it into ChatGPT with the chapter's prompt. Nothing needs a paid connector, and the 40 regex patterns keep each export small enough to paste.
