Why Most Vision Boards Miss What a Teen's Year Looks Like
Most vision board kits are written for adults with a job and a mortgage. A teen's year runs on a school calendar and a part-time schedule, and a lot of it is decided by someone else.
- The prompts ask about a career when the real question is next semester.
- The photographs show offices and weddings, not a bedroom, a locker or a first job.
- A kit that looks childish ends up at the back of a drawer.
- Goal pages with no room for homework or practice are abandoned by March.
- A parent buys one to help and cannot tell whether it will get used.

How a Teen Uses the Kit in Five Steps
Plan one evening for the workbook and another for the board. Pencil works better than pen.
-
Look back at your year
Fill in the first pages: the year in a page, what to keep, drop and begin, and how school, friends and your body feel right now.
-
Choose three goals
Write down twelve ideas, cut them with three questions and keep three. Small goals you can check beat big ones you cannot.
-
Plan around the school year
Use the school year in four parts and the school week page to see where the goals fit between classes, homework and time for you.
-
Make the board
Print a ready-made board, or pick a layout, cut out photographs and word cards and glue them down.
-
Check in every month
Run the monthly check-in, which includes schoolwork, and adjust the plan before it drifts.

Why a Teen Needs a Plan as Well as a Picture
A teen's year is not an adult's year with smaller numbers. It has a school calendar, exams, part-time hours and decisions made by other people. The workbook follows that calendar instead of asking a sixteen-year-old to plan a career.
In a 2011 study, Angela Duckworth and colleagues gave 66 high school students a 30-minute written exercise that paired a wished-for outcome with the obstacle in the way and an if-then plan for it. Those students completed more than 60% more practice questions for a high-stakes exam than a control group. The workbook's obstacle and if-then pages use the same idea. It is one study and one exam, so treat it as encouragement, not a promise.
The photographs were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything. A parent can print one copy for a teen. The license covers personal use.

Vision Board Kit for Teens: Frequently Asked Questions
What is in the teen vision board kit?
A 26-page goal workbook with school-year pages, six ready-made boards, four blank layouts, 40 word cards plus 8 blanks, 50 photographs and 19 graphic tiles, as one 48-page PDF in US Letter and A4. A ZIP adds the 69 image files and three phone wallpapers.
Will a teenager actually use it?
The design is plain and adult, with no cartoons, and the workbook asks about school, money and friends instead of a career. Whether a teen uses it still depends on the teen, so let them choose the board and fill in the pages privately.
What are the school-year pages?
Three pages are made for school: the school year in four parts, a school week with homework and time for you, and a monthly check-in that includes schoolwork.
Do the photographs show people?
No. They show rooms, desks, places and things, such as a bedroom with string lights, a school hallway, a bike and a lunch box.
Can I edit it, or is it print-only?
No. The PDFs are made to print and write on. They are not editable templates. If you want to edit the boards, the Canva template version is the one to buy.
Can a parent buy it for a teen?
Yes. Print it, hand it over and let the teen fill it in. It is a digital download, so you can have it on the desk the same day.
What do I get when I buy it?
Three files: the 48-page PDF in US Letter, the same PDF in A4, and a ZIP with 69 image files and three phone wallpapers.
How much does it cost, and where can I buy it?
As of 23 October 2026 it costs $6.99 on Etsy. The table above shows what the store sells.
More questions
Is it a good gift for a teenager?
It works as a New Year gift, a back-to-school gift or a reward for finishing a term. It arrives as a download, so nothing waits on shipping.
Can it help with exams?
It is not a study guide. The obstacle and if-then pages help a teen plan for what gets in the way of studying, and the school week page makes room for it.
How is it different from the kids version?
The kids version is for ages 6 to 10 and has big writing lines, coloring pages and stickers. The teen kit is a plain 48-page workbook and board set.
How is it different from the college version?
The college version swaps the school pages for an academic year with classes, exams and internships, and a college week with study and work shifts.
Can I print it more than once?
Print as many copies as you need for yourself. Please do not share, resell or redistribute the files.
Was AI used to make it?
The photographs were created with AI image tools, and the workbook text and word cards were drafted with AI assistance. Ink and Index directed the prompts, then selected, edited and assembled everything and designed the pages, boards and graphic tiles.
Is this mental health advice?
No. It is a goal-setting and planning kit. It is not medical or mental health advice.
What if a file will not open?
Email the address on the contact page. If a file will not open or is not what the listing describes, it gets fixed or replaced.
